The Wildflower Ark Nursery

The Wildflower Ark Nursery grows and supplies native wildflowers and trees grown from locally collected seed. All plants are grown in peat-free organic potting compost without the use of artificial pesticides and fertilisers.

We stock plants from a range of habitats including grassland, wetland, woodland and hedgerow, and will advise on appropriate species for planting with regard to local character using information held on our Plant Database.

Wildflowers

Wildflowers are mostly available in 7cm pots. Some species are available in 9cm pots.

For a full list of plants available and services provided we will shortly be providing on this site the Wildflower Ark Catalogue.

The nursery also contains plant collections of

  • Locally rare and scarce wildflowers as identified by the Plant Record Database to ensure that the local genetic stock is not lost
  • Established aliens of local historic interest
  • More common wildflowers for use in botanical training and identification days

Trees

Trees and shrubs are available in 175cc Rootrainers. We grow saplings from seed collected from tree populations in their natural or ancient habitats.

For a full list of trees and shrubs available we will shortly be providing The Wildflower Ark catalogue.
